Scalable Innovations

Greater Geraldton is an established regional hub that has organisations in place to assist innovation, supporting a diverse range of both commercial and social ventures. Historic successes include pharmaceutical products (HitNitz46), technology innovators (Westnet, Market Creations) and emerging enterprises across a diverse range of industries from  bioenergy to  niche food products.

Current investment opportunities in this sector include:

Yalgoo Kangaroo Meat Processing Plant (ROO-Y)

This project looks at the feasibility of developing a Kangaroo Abattoir (for human consumption) in Yalgoo; an enterprise that would add diversity to economic activity in the region, bring jobs and opportunity to a small outback town and help tackle the broader problems of the arid Rangelands environmental management. Renewable Hydrogen Production

At Sea-Nergy Pty Ltd we have developed what we believe to be a world-first renewable method of Hydrogen production using solar energy. Our system of solar to fuel is based on hydrogen extraction using seawater and a unique catalytic method where our end to end process is carbon negative, not carbon neutral but actually carbon negative.

By our current estimates, we anticipate saving almost 1.5 million kilograms of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere… and that is just the beginning. As our production output increases in line with our expansion plans, so too does the amount of carbon dioxide being prevented from contributing to global warming.

Being carbon negative is not all that our Renewable Hydrogen Production method has to offer. When Hydrogen is consumed in a Hydrogen Fuel Cell to produce electricity, the only by-product is water. Our unique method goes one step further. Our waste water post hydrogen extraction has the potential to aid in food production. With our research partners, we are hoping to explore this further and the potential of using our waste in a new form of fuel cell that will further assist with output production projections. So, in summary at Sea-Nergy we are aiming to produce electricity, water and food whilst helping our planet recover from centuries of industrial pollution.

As an environmentally responsible company we also seek to maximising the opportunities that lie in the rapidly expanding Hydrogen Market. With Japan moving towards a “Hydrogen Economy”, Germany introducing the world’s first hydrogen powered passenger train, the numerous and prolific growth of hydrogen use in the Automotive Industry and many other global advancements in the use of hydrogen, we believe the time is right to build a commercially robust, profitable and sustainable new industry.

Our journey begins with attracting investment and by comparative estimates to other forms of hydrogen production, the initial investment in minuscule. On the other hand, we believe the medium to long term returns are so attractive, we feel confident that the necessary capital will be secured in short order.

As a start-up company our immediate focus is sourcing funding to assist in legal costs, further research and development and the production of a small scale proto-type in preparation for a pilot plant."

Carob Farming

Growing carob trees to produce sufficient quantities of fruit for "Kibbling". Harvesting neighbours orchards to add to ours for kibbling purposes. Kibble can then be milled into Carob flour; kibble with sugars extracted to form a Carob fibre; extracted sugars to be made into Carob syrup. Promoting large scale planting of Carob seedlings among farmers to establish a Carob growing & processing industry in the Mid West. Carob fibre especially will help dietary problems of large number of obese and diabetic people in Australia, also export to Asia. Set up Carob processing machinery in reconditioned Greenough flour mill for sales/export.

Farm Char

We manufacture continuous flow pyrolysis kilns. The machine uses heat to reduce organic waste by up to 60% and produces biochar - a carbon rich, charcoal like material that is increasingly being used in soils and fed to cattle.
Our target audience is any organisation looking to reduce the cost of their organic waste stream or add value to their waste by converting it to biochar and selling it. We aim to either, sell machines directly or partner with stakeholders to build projects.
We want to produce machines in the Mid West and sell to local, national and international markets.

Drone to Tractor Fallow Weed Analysis

A gap exists between where drones are today and where they need to be, in order to be widely adopted amongst farmers. WAM has set out to solve this gap, which is drone to tractor software analysis. We have focused on creating a drone to tractor fallow weed analysis solution.
The prototype enables drone data to be uploaded, processed and results are represented in 2 formats:

  1. Visually: farmers can see the weed distribution in paddocks.
  2. Exportable file: Uploaded into the tractors software enabling targeted herbicide prescriptions, meaning farmers only spray where needed; minimising chemical costs and having significant environmental benefits.
